Release Candidate 3

Apr 19, 01:19 AM · from the mouth of Jake

I updated us to the latest version of Textpattern. Some things still don’t work, like the search box and the category drop down. And some new things have broken, like the click an author name and get a listing of articles.

I finished Ambershed.com for the most part, so before I move on to something totally new I figure I’ll tidy up around here a little bit. Let me know if you notice anything new that’s broken and I’ll add to the list of things to repair.

Update: If anyone has any ideas on what to do about a logo and the text up top I’m all ears. I don’t want it to be too outlandish, but I’d like some text that isn’t so boring and that we can turn into an actual graphic to overlay onto the background images. If you need some web sites to peruse for ideas let me know. I’m having the same problem with the Band’s logo…

Tell me what you think!! [4]

Well, I don’t know much about textpattern (and haven’t really tried to learn) but the Ambershed site looks good. I listened to each 30 second preview on iTunes. Sounds great! Where did you guys record that? And how on earth did you get it losted on iTunes anyway?! And does all the money go to you guys? If so, I’ll buy it. If most of it goes to Steve Jobs, then f-that! I’ll just buy it from you direct.

    Nicely done Jake-ee-poo.

That word above is supposed to be “listed”, not “losted”. So much for getting to preview and edit your posting before hitting “submit”!

Well Adam and Dave both went to the University of Hartford, and Dave majored in Sound Engineering. So basically he handles all that stuff himself.

And we signed up with cdbaby.com and for some small addition, like $50 they submit it to iTunes for you. And then it’s reviewed and possibly passed into the catalog. Luckily we passed. I’m not sure how much money we make when it sells on iTunes. I know that buying a CD from cdbaby costs $12 bucks and we make back $8. So I assume it’s not Apple making a majority. Hell the f’n RIAA makes sure they don’t get a majority right now of major stuff.

But I do have to warn you that I am not playing on the CD. They recorded about a year ago. And I didn’t join the band till August. So I designed the CD, with them looking over my shoulder a bunch, but I didn’t get to record. I never thought it was a big deal, but a lot of people don’t want to buy it simply cause I’m not the drummer on it.

We have been recording the new tracks that have been written since I joined, and when Dave gets around to mixing them, we’ll be releasing them as a second demo, in a similar way to the first demo.

yeah I mentioned this already under another posting but I figured I’d try again here…

I don’t seem to be able to login to textpattern. I had it on “remember me” mode, but the new version said “bad cookie” and I forgot my username and password. Jake – a little help? I’d like to be able to post again!
