I can post again!

May 13, 07:29 PM · from the mouth of Andy

Yes that’s right, I’m posting for the sake of posting. I will not sit idly by and watch Goofyguys slide into disrepair!

Speaking of disrepair, did news of the Henry Hudson Parkway shutdown reach you guys in the rest of the world? Long story short, a huge retaining wall collapsed and covered the northbound parkway in dirt and debris. Luckily, no one was hurt and no buildings seem to have been damaged. Unluckily, I happen to live about 5 blocks from the site! So my commute home last night got extended by about 300%.

Anyhow, enough talk, here’s a link to a picture about it.

In other news, following in the footsteps of Jim’s globetrotting girlfriend, Lisa is going to China for 2 weeks next friday. (oh by the way Jim – quit shagging and say something!) Unlike Sarah, she will not have a blog, nor is she going with a bunch of other horny co-eds: she’ll be with her family. Meanwhile, I’ll be still in NY wasting the days away at school, missing my usual role as Lisa’s kinky S&M slave.

In technology news, I have 3 new toys (yes 3). 1 is an iPod, which is awesome. 2, for you fellow music geeks, is Sibelius 3.1, the major rival to Finale notation software that is SO MUCH BETTER! Plus, my school bought it for me. =) Last is a flash-memory mp3 recorder with built in mics – the description doesn’t sound that great, but it is truly an AWESOME little thing. Jake – is there any way I can post sound files? I’d love for you all to hear my farts again… =)

Also, back home in good old CT, we just held the first execution in NEW ENGLAND in 45 years. Also, the Pentagon wants to close down the sub base in New London. So, basically, everyone’s hating on CT.

Ok, that should be enough to get some comments going. Discuss!

Actually I did see something about the highway being blocked on the news the other day. I wasn’t sure where it was though, stinks it affected your commute and stuff.

Actually I kinda have 2 new toys myself. I don’t think I mentioned this anywhere. Jackie got a Nikon 7900 camera a little while ago and it takes pretty pictures. And then about 2 weeks later my Dad bought a Nikon 8800 which is a lot bulkier but is a little closer to the DSLR I’ve been craving. So now if I want to go shoot pictures I can borrow either camera and have at it. Naturally Jackie’s is a hell of a lot better for mobility, the thing is friggin’ tiny.

As for mp3’s, well as long as it’s your farts and not somebody else’s copyrighted farts you can dump them into the Files section of the admin and link to them similar as to how you’d link to an image. They have the same helper thingies to spell it out for you. Actually that’s what we’re doing over at Ambershed for people downloading our free demo tracks. It’ll keep track of how many times it’s downloaded.

Also for mp3’s I’ve been considering using something like the getID3 class to build a plugin or something that would read the id3 tags of mp3’s and stuff for displaying that information. Man I love me some meta info.

    Holy Beaujolais!

That’s quite the land slide. News of that didn’t reach me here in Viginy. Or maybe I just wasn’t paying attention. We had a bunch of mini-er landslides down here last summer, not long after you sexxxy boys visited. It was when tropical storm Gaston decided to drop about 14 inches of rain on Richmond in a matter of about 3 hours. Most of the damage wasn’t so much in the form of landslides (although you can still see the effects of the landslides across the street from my pad), but rather it was the flooding that devistated tons of Richmond businesses and homes. I was stuck in about 5 hours of traffic that night!

I look forward to hearing some of your recordings Andrew. I’ve been wondering for while if you can post music files. I don’t know if I ever played it for you guys, but I recorded my own version of Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner” using Garage Band last year. I’ll have to look into posting it for those who wish to desecrate their ears with the sound of me singing.

BTW, I’ll second Andy’s notion. SPEAK YIMMY! Are you alive? Do you have another e-mail address besides “crberus”? I’ve been e-mailing you without reply.

yeah Jimmy – nice link. when do we get to see picturae?

Here’s something you guys might appreciate. NPR did a couple of stories about beer!

Here’s one on beer tasting and another on beer history.

I’ll get around to posting some sound files someday – so far I’ve mostly used the aforementioned recording device (that is, the Edirol R-1 ) for recording class activities in school. And it’s some kind of district violation to post anything to do with my kids without obtaining consent. So, alas, you won’t get to hear their rap version of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. But someday I’ll put something cool on here, I promise. Like a remix of April’s signature climactic moans… (come out and play, Johnny!)

    Oh, good. Jimmy is alive.

I remember hearing a teaser about the beer story, but I never heard the actual thing. Glad you bookmarked it for us! I’ll listen to it later today.

Wow that was fun to listen to. I got a nice blueberry beer at the Boston Beer Works a few weeks ago. It was a little weird swallowing the blueberries, but very good. I didn’t get to see the whole menu while I was there, I want to try the Pumpkinhead Ale. I love me some pumpkin.

Yay execution! Finally we know that some states have some BALLS left. Why not instead of giving Michael Ross an execution to prove that we don’t tolerate the raping and killing of children in our society, lets give him a hug and say, thank you for killing my son, thank you for raping my daughter. Then, we’ll send him to a hospital, claim that he has a “mental disorder”, medicate him, and then put him back on the streets to kill again, where a lawyer can just get him off on an insanity plea. hmmm…....

    Oh good, Bryan’s back too.

Here is some more “fair and balanced” death penalty info. For real.

    Check it

And check my link. Cuz it’s nasty like that.

Hey beyotches. Since we are on the subject of movie reviews Ty, I thought I would share this with you guys. Months ago we had our conflicts on Bush vs. Kerry and the war on Iraq. I never answered in like I should have. So, to make a long story shortened, (or a long story John) If you truly want to understand why I support the war in Iraq, then watch the movie “Tears of the Sun”. And if that doesn’t work, then let me explain this to you. There are three types of people in this world, dicks, pussies and assholes. Pussies don’t like dicks because they fuckem. But dicks also fuck assholes. Most of the time pussies are so full of shit that they become assholes themselves (after all they are only a quarter of an inch from becoming assholes) Sometimes dicks fuck too much, and it takes a pussy to show him that. One thing that is clear to me is this, if pussies don’t let dicks fuck assholes, then we are going to have all of our dicks and our pussies, covered in shit. Oh and April says hi.

Wow, talk about bad language! For shame!

I’ll try to catch that movie.

  12. Tyler responds with:

Wait, better idea. I’ll watch your movie if you watch mine. I’m guessing you haven’t watched “What The Bleep Do We Know?” yet, since you haven’t commented on it. So, you go rent mine, I’ll rent yours, and we’ll discuss.

    Sound good?

P.S. About the rant of bad language: Please remember that we aren’t the only ones who view this site. We had this discussion a few months ago. So watch the potty mouth, mister!

And then try it out for yourself at gizzoogle. New sites tend to be particularly hilarious when “gizzoogled”.

  15. TyTy responds with:

Okay, I’ve listened to the stories, and BOY do I want a beer now! I like that the beer expert in the first clip was named Michael Jackson. I want the Sam Adams Utopias, for the bottle—if not for the beer inside! It pained me however, when Robert Seigel used Bud Light as an example of a good beer. Yuck.

I also just listened to a story about how dark beer (and red wine) is good for your heart. Hooray! Listen here.
