Bachelor Party Ideas

Jul 15, 08:32 PM · from the mouth of Andy

Maybe you guys have missed some of the discussion on the “Room Service” thread about this, so I’ll recap a little.

We need to have a bachelor party for Tyler! The wedding is barely 2 months away, so it’s now or never.

Since we’re so far apart, it’ll be really hard to plan something close to the wedding, both in time and in geography. So here’s my suggestion:

Let’s take a weekend sometime in August or early September and go to the Dogfish Head brew pub in Delaware. That’s the place that put out the raisin beer (Raisin d’etre) that we had at Ty’s place. Now Ty has suggested that we do more than just that, like camping or beaching or all getting fabulous pedicures. It turns out that’ll be easy since the place is located in Rehoboth Beach, a very happenin’ place. And I’m gonna suggest that we go Labor Day weekend, since we’ll all have more time off then.

So please, everyone, share with us your thoughts and your schedules. I’m very sorry, Jimmy, that this may not work for you!

Holy Crap. I’m in. I’m sooo in. I’ve been drinking and loving Dogfish Head beers for a few years, but I’d never been to their website. Oh my God, am I in!

Not only do they brew some of the worlds best (and in some cases strongest!) beers, they also brew their own rum, vodka, gin, & tequila, and have the most fabulous looking menu a food-and-beer-loving bachelor could hope for! My only worry is that there’s so much to try and so little time. (We might have to make two trips that weekend!)

Oh, and I’m down with Labor Day weekend too.

    And then there were three….

I just picked up some Buffalo Bills Orange Blossom Cream Ale. Good stuff!

Come on Bryan and Johnny – show us your commitment to getting Tyler wasted, just like on our camping trips back in the day… I know you can do it!

Tyler…Can I come to your wedding?? ppplease. My name wasn’t on the invitation (makes sad frown face) ;)

  6. Tyler responds with:

Yeah, sorry… you’re definately invited, I just didn’t know your last name. Aside from the address panel, we forgot to include anywhere else to put who exactly was invited. But you ought to know that you’re invited of course…

Same goes for Sarah and Lisa.

Does that mean I can bring Cloey as well? My web-footed prostitute?

    Ok so.

I’ve done some more research on this.

There’s a campground 2.5 miles from the brew pub that rents cabins to people. It would probably be $100 a night for 6 of us to stay in one cabin – they sleep 6, so it wouldn’t be a problem for all of us to fit. The only thing is if we go labor day we would have to reserve 3 nights, but it wouldn’t set us back all that much extra.

The brew pub and the campground are in a happenin’ beach town, Rehoboth Beach. So during the day we could go beaching and stuff and then spend our nights with freshly brewed beer around our BBQ pit that comes with the cabin.

I’m excited about this stuff – I need commitments from people so I can make reservations! Mostly on the cabin. So far it’s me, Tyler and Jake. Bryan and John, ARE YOU IN? Jimmy, are you out for sure? Ty, do want to invite anyone else?

we’re looking at Labor day weekend, so Saturday September 3rd to Monday September 5th. If enough of us are free we can even get there on Friday the 2nd in the evening, but it’s a trek from CT so you’d have to take at least 1/2 a day off to make Friday worthwhile. Otherwise it’s all free holiday weekend time.

Warning: I’m gonna start calling people this week to make sure we can actually go through with this!
