Even more nostalgia

Jun 1, 11:07 PM · from the mouth of Andy

Hey boys,

This pic has been hanging on my wall for years, and I thought it’d be good to post here. Take a look!

And pardon the icky scan.

You can also find this on my brand spankin’ new MySpace profile. Love it!

How’s everyone doing? Post something!

Fantastic! You know what’s funny, is you can tell it’s the mid-90’s in that photo. Because even though we’re trying to look like hippies, three of the four of us have on plaid flannel shirts, a telltale sign of the popularity of grunge music!

Yes, the great GoofyGuys has been long neglected. I check it everyday to see if anyone else has posted anything, but I rarely take the time to post anything myself. I call for a renaissance of GoofyGuys!

For anyone who’s interested, I’ve started my own blog on Jess’s and my website. There’s only one posting so far and nobody but Jess has read it. But I hope to get into a habit of posting to it frequently so y’all can check it on a regular basis.

I built that site using iWeb, which is super easy. The only thing I don’t like about it is that I have to write all blog articles at home, IN iWeb. I can’t just post from a browser like you can here.

Hooray for goofyguys renaissance! I’ll gladly keep spamming you all on here… I also check this site every day, but rarely post. Maybe that’ll change…

Nice blog, Tyler! I posted a response to your ramblings. It’s a subject I think about a lot!

It’s raining a lot. I’m still at school. I think I’ll go home now.

Thanks for adding a comment Andy! Hopefully I’ll post more in the days to come.

Sometimes I wonder if I don’t beat Jim to reading this more often than should be allowable for a goofy guy. For that he should be heckled.

STRANGE MAN: I wonder where that fish has gone.
STRANGE WOMAN: You did love it so. You looked after it like a son.
STRANGE MAN: And it went wherever I did go.
STRANGE WOMAN: Is it in the cupboard?
    AUDIENCE: Yes! Yes! No!...
STRANGE WOMAN: Wouldn’t you like to know? It was a lovely little fish.
STRANGE MAN: And it went wherever I did go.
MAN IN AUDIENCE: It’s behind the sofa!
STRANGE WOMAN: Where can that fish be?
MAN IN AUDIENCE: Have you thought of the drawers in the bureau?!
    RANDOM: Shh!
STRANGE WOMAN: It is a most elusive fish!
STRANGE MAN: And it went wherever I did go.
STRANGE WOMAN: Ooooh, fishy, fishy, fishy fish!
    STRANGE MAN: A-fish, a-fish, a-fish, a-fishy, ooooh.
STRANGE WOMAN: Ooooh, fishy, fishy, fishy fish!
STRANGE MAN: That went wherever I did go.
MAN IN AUDIENCE: Look up his trunk!
MAN IN AUDIENCE: Yeah, it’s hidden in his trousers!

BTW – Tyty, glad to hear that iWeb is good. I just “acquired” a copy of iLife ‘06 and installed in about 3 weeks ago and I haven’t had a chance to play with it. So far iDVD looks kinda cool (the main reason I grabbed it.) Only problem is with happymac… it’s just a tiny bit painful – have you stopped lusting and purchased a new iMac yet?

YES! I love that bit from Python, possibly the most surreal bit (not counting the animated stuff) that they ever did. Bravo, Jimmy, for digging that up.

Ironically, I read this while Lisa was in the other room playing this lame-ass video game where you’re a cute little animal who, among other things, gets to go fishing. Any others familiar with “Animal Crossing” for the Game Cube?

We are a fun bunch, aren’t we?

I haven’t yet purchased a new iMac. Hopefully in July when I (hopefully) get a bonus at work. But my (Jess’s) G4 is still running beautifully, albeit a bit slow. Testament to the joys of the Mac design and OS. We’ve had this computer for 5 years? 6 years? And it still works like new. My two PCs can’t say the same. One is a desktop system that’s just as old as the G4, and it’s so f-ed up its unusable. Then there’s my Toshiba laptop, which was fairly top of the line when I bought it 2.5 years ago. It’s slow as molasses and always gets bogged down with trojan horses and viruses.

    Oh well.

Jimmy! Get that week squared away at work so we can go to Maine!!!

    Love Ty.

Hahaha, well you guys do realize that you can use a feed reader to keep tabs on Goofy Guys, as well as many other sites? I’ve actually been considering cutting back on the amount of feeds I read. But you guys should look into it.

For mac easily the best would be NetNewsWire. There’s a “lite” version that’s free.

And for PC there’s a counterpart called FeedDemon. :) But for free I think the best would be RSSBandit.

Subscribing is pretty easy. And then just run the program in the background and bam you know whenever someone updates their site.

Just a word of warning, don’t let it control you, it’s easy to have it update all the time… put it down for every few hours though and you’ll be golden. :)

If you have any questions, just let me know. ;)

Wow, thanks for the info Jake. I’ve known about RSS and basically how it works for a while now, but never bothered to try it. I installed NetNewsWire and I like it. It makes it easy to subscribe to all kinds of blogs you find interesting, and not the ones you don’t.

I still like checking the webpage though, cause you can easily see who’s commented on what recently.

    Word up.
