Nov 1, 07:29 PM · from the mouth of Tyler

So, as Jake texted the other day (to most of us, I assume), Spamalot is set to go off Broadway in January. I say we make it our mission to see it before it’s gone forever. I can’t believe it’s taken us this long to do this, but apparently, now is our last chance.

I replied to Jake that I occationally get discounts at work on Broadway show, but the last time I saw anything of the sort was early summer. I can inquire at work after the weekend, but another idea I had was the TKTS booth in Times Square, operated by the Theatre Defelopment Fund. They offer day-of ticket discounts up-to 50% off. And I think as an educator, Andy qualifies for a membership, which might increase our odds of discount tickets (I haven’t read the fine print).

But in any event, I say we organize and find a way to see this groundbreaking show before it leaves Broadway. We’ll have to set a date. And our chances will likely be better if it’s a weekday, which may mean taking off of work (or at least leaving early).

What do you say?

Ooh! Our last chance to see Clay Aiken live! I’m going to investigate the membership thing, and then we need to pick a date. Unfortunately since I have a concert at school on December 18 I really can’t take days off before then. With any luck, though, I’ll be able to find us an evening show through the membership thing.

Works for me. :-) Perhaps the best time would be between Christmas and New Years? Can everyone get some time off from work then?

I’m sure anything will work for me. And if we can’t get a discount, I’ll gladly pay full price. The thing that makes me nervous about the TKTS thing is that I think it’s a last second, day-of sorta thing. Maybe we should just bite the bullet and pay full-price to ensure that we get tickets.

    Very cool.

And speaking of which, we should get some Spamalot Tickets before it’s too late… what night works for everyone?

Oooh, Jim and I saw Spamalot in Denver. It must be even better on Broadway. Totally worth it! Wish we could be there! Have fun!
