Happy Rosh Hashanah!/I'm a dumbass

Sep 16, 12:56 PM · from the mouth of Andy

Thank Holy Moses, I have the day off from schul today.

And I have some humor to share with you, courtesy of the man behind Da Ali G Show:

Funny link that wasn’t a link before…

Now you may have noticed that this isn’t actually a link. That’s because I couldn’t figure out how to make it into one on textpattern. I also couldn’t seem to get back to our earliest articles on the main site, where I’m pretty sure jake explained all this… even when I clicked on the archive for August 30, it only showed me about the 10 most recent postings. And the search function doesn’t seem to do anything either. Am I just dumb?

I’m going back to bed now. =)

Argh! You have discovered a bug I have been working on the last few days. Those are supposed to go unnoticed until I point them out and how I amazingly fixed them.

Basically We use “clean” urls, as in /article/##/weird-name-it-makes-up

But the system doesn’t have a built in mechanism for the date based viewing, so someone made a plugin and that plugin appends the info on the end of our clean urls.

Normally this wouldn’t a problem because the system uses a certain way of processing the clean urls. We alas can not and thus are forced to use a homemade way. Only the homemade way doesn’t take into account those other variables, so it’s just showing /article/

Pissah huh? Well I’ve been working on it, but the church choir coocert is sucking all my time this week so I haven’t fixed it.

As for links, that’s easy, there’s a legend on the left of the page if you click “Textile Help” and to actually make them you type in double quotes, the text you want displayed, doublequotes, colon, and the link. It looks something like this, without the spaces (otherwise what I’m writing would become a link) between the quotes and the colon.
