Killer music

Sep 22, 03:27 PM · from the mouth of Jim

The fourth annual Festival of the Mabon in Lyons Colorado this weekend was fantastic as usual and exposed me to two performers that I must share with you guys.

The first performer, David Wilcox, is a well known folk artist that can only be discribed as an extreme joy to listen to. To me, he embodies every bit of the spirit of folk music. His show included his guitar, his voice and tales of life. It didn’t take me more than 2-3 songs to know that I absolutely had to purchase his CD.

The show closers, Solas, once again proved themselves to not only be fantastic, but some could say, were the cause of this festival in the first place. I had the benefit of seeing them perform five years ago at the Folks Festival and they have done no less than grown into an even more incredible band. Celtic music fuels their core, but they branch into so many styles of music that they simply put on a spectacular show that my pathetic writing skills can not possibly do justice to.

I guess I’ll have to wait till I get home later to play with this, Realplayer sucks the big one yet again and I can not play the Solas tracks to hear them and subsequently blow all my money on them… Thanks for sharing Jimmy

Yeah! Poop on realplayer! I can’t get em to work on either my PC or my Mac. But I liked David Wilcox… you can listen to him and buy his music on iTunes, too. But you canstream two of him albums in their entirety on his website. Word up.
